What does a dump valve do?

Quite simply it helps to release the excess pressure built up by the turbo after the
turbo has been boosting. This has the effect of stopping the turbo blades from
stalling thus easing the pressure on the turbo bearings, prolonging the life of the
turbo and improving throttle response

The Forge Smart car dump valve is a diaphragm dump valve and tends to
be preferred by those that like their dumpvalves on the louder side.
Diaphragm dump valves need servicing every 20,000 miles to
maintain optimum performance.
