We offered this challange to EVO magazine writer David Yu.
Evo have had a good deal of experience with tuned Smarts
so when we were at Bruntingthorpe testing the bike engined
Roadster we took along our Tsunami Turbo'd demo car for a
comparison. David was astounded by the fact our 100bhp Smart
fortwo could keep up with a factory Brabus Roadster until
aerodynamics gave the Roadster an advantage.
He freely admitted that it was the fastest Smart fortwo he had
ever driven and was much faster than the Brabus fortwo that
EVO magazine had been using as a test car.
The difference in top speed at the end of the
2 mile straight was only 6mph with the Brabus Roadster posting
103mph and our Tsunami Turbo'd Smart fortwo posting 97mph.
This was on a soaking wet track with a standing start a
quarter of the way down the straight.
